Trying to lose weight can be a very daunting and tedious task if you do not have a plan in place to do so. Hence the reason why many persons start their weightloss journey and ending without accomplishing their initial goal of losing the weight. After trying for many years I came to the conclusion that losing weight is a step by step process, one that starts gradually and is then built upon.
There are many simple steps that one can take in order for weight loss to be effective, these include, exercising, changing the way one eats and changing of mindset. Once I realize these simple things I was able to lose the weight.
Exercise
Most persons when they hear exercise they think about the gym but there are many ways to include exercise into your lifestyle without going to the gym. For a person who drives a lot , a simple form of exercise would be to park the car and walk to the store, or take the dog for a walk. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. Rather than sitting on the couch watching television try doing some household chores. For those who like the cool outdoor air, take a walk around your block and back. Exercise helps to increase the flow of blood to the brain and also helps to give the blood the oxygen it needs to get your body functioning correctly. In addition, it helps to keep your metabolism going so that the food you eat will be burned off. Moreover, there are a lot of channels on the televison like Discovery Fit and Health that has programmes where you can stay at home and exercise along with the Trainer on the show. Quite cheap and simple isn't it?
Some people will say that they do not have the time to exercise, well why not determine in yourself that you will get up half and hour earlier to get some exercise even to walk or run around your bed a couple times to get that blood flowing.
Eating Habits
Changing your eating habits will help you to achieve your weight loss goal. This does not mean starving yourself and not eating, what most persons don't realize is that when they don't eat the body holds on to what it has and so not effective. What it does mean, however is that you look at your diet and begin to take away the things that are not doing your body good. For example, when I did this, one of the first food I cut from my diet was white bread. I was amazed to see the results I lost about 10 lbs from doing that alone. Another thing I did was to eliminate the amount of starchy foods that I was eating and so for my lunch I usually take proteins and vegetables and drank water instead of juice. Portion size is another thing to consider. Your portion size should be the size of your fist. Increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables and cutting back on cakes and candies will put you on the right track faster.

In order to keep focus and achieve your weight loss goal you have to change the way you think. Speak positive about your self and constantly speak your goals. One effective thing that you can do to keep focus is to write your goals on paper and stick in places where you can see it everyday. Like on the mirror or in the bathroom. That way you will be reminded to stay at your goal. These simple steps has helped me to achieve my weight loss goals.
